EVERYDAY STRONG
Strength Training & Movement Coaching With John Perez
About Everyday Strong
Strength for the Realities of Life
Everyday Strong is a holistic movement practice dedicated to helping you move better and live more capably. You won’t just get a workout, you get a program that will empower you to take ownership of your well-being. We will look at your daily choices to find patterns, set clear goals, and find the right movement for your body.
While I work with anyone motivated to improve their movement and function, I specialize in helping those navigating complex health journeys including cancer survivors, older population, and individuals living with chronic pain.
I also provide specialized coaching for performers in high-impact worlds like stunts, inline rollerblading, and acrobatics, helping athletes build the resilience needed for extreme movement.
It doesn't get easier, you get better!
The Power of Ownership
Only you can take control of your fitness and well-being!
Success at Everyday Strong is measured by your independence. I am not looking for lifelong clients. I am looking to create lifelong movers. While I am happy to work with those who want a long-term coaching relationship, my focus is on helping you gain the education and confidence to manage your own movement.
I will give you the tools, you execute!
small choices make big differences.
What Do I Provide
Custom Programming
I build programs specifically for your needs. I am also willing to work directly with your medical care team to ensure a safe and effective exercise plan. Each program is built by taking into account:
Your Environment: Available equipment, whether you’re at home, a gym, or on the road.
Injury History: Current limitations or past injuries that require specific attention.
Lifestyle & Sport Demands: The specific movements and stresses of your hobby or profession.
Medical Guidance: Integrating recommendations from your doctors/care team.
Health Ownership Coaching
I help you build the confidence to take the lead in your own fitness and health journey. This coaching focuses on:
Doctor’s Visit Preparation: I help you frame the right questions for your care team so you can get the most out of your visits.
Strategic Goal Setting: We establish clear and sustainable targets to build the best version of yourself.
Lifestyle Connection: I help you understand how daily factors such as sleep quality, diet, and stress management directly impact your strength and well-being.
Adaptive Movement Education
My goal is to give you a movement education that includes:
Training Modifications: How to pivot and adjust your movements in real-time based on your energy levels, current discomfort, or daily schedule.
Autoregulation: Learning to read your body’s signals so you know exactly when to push and when to scale back.
Navigating Flares: Strategies for moving safely through discomfort or fatigue rather than being sidelined by them.
Safe Progressive Overload: How to safely make your training more challenging so you can keep getting stronger without wearing yourself out.
The Resource Vault
You gain 24/7 access to an exclusive library of video and literary resources designed to support your training outside of our sessions:
Movement Libraries: Detailed video demonstrations for warm ups, stretching, and specific exercise techniques to ensure your form is always on point.
Educational Guides: Literary resources that break down the science of strength and movement so you understand the logic behind your program.
Who can benefit?
Everyday Strong will benefit anyone who desires to improve their movement quality and overall strength. While I work with all levels, I have a deep specialty in the following:
Post-Rehab & Complex Health Journeys
Many of my clients come to Everyday Strong because they need more than a standard personal trainer. Some have been discharged from physical therapy but don’t feel ready for a big-box gym, or they are managing a long-term illness that requires a more nuanced approach to exercise. With my background as a former Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), I provide the bridge between clinical care and functional fitness.
Older Population
I have worked with a wide range of senior clients, including individuals in their 80s & 90s, focusing on the strength and mobility required to maintain independence. A key part of my work involves teaching practical, life-saving skills such as the ability to safely get up from the floor. By building functional strength, I help my clients move with more confidence and stay capable in their daily lives.
High Impact/Extreme Sports Athletes
I provide specialized coaching for performers in high-impact worlds like stunts, skating, and acrobatics. General strength programs often focus on aesthetic goals that don’t necessarily translate to the specific demands of extreme movement. I focus on the unique stresses of your sport to help you rebuild your body and address the weaknesses that lead to injury. Every program I build is customized to complement your specific discipline, ensuring your work in the gym directly supports your performance.
Aggressive Inline Bladers
I have worked with many bladers, including those looking to build explosive power and those navigating the road back from injury. I understand the mechanics of the sport and how to train your body to handle the high-impact demands of the street or the park. By focusing on joint resilience and functional strength, I help you manage the physical toll of skating so you can skate longer and with more control.
*** Individuals that have recently recovered from an injury, accident, or surgery will need approval from their doctor before continuing with Everyday Strong.
